Main Images-
.
I chose this as a possibilty for my image on my magazine as the student is making eye contact with the audience, they also have a smile on their face which gives a positive look towards the college. She is holding a notebook and her Wyke timetable which promotes education at the college. The type of angle is a medium shot from just her waist to head. I took it on the balcony of the Oak building as the libray and other students are in the background, so we can see it's a friendly environment. I may use this for my front cover. This was going to be my main image for my magazine, but I decided against it. Although the student is promoting good education by holding books etc, the camera angle is too far away and the 'ASH' sign doesn't really fit in. I also think the background is too boring and doesn't show much of a 'busy' and positive view of the college.
I chose this as another possibility for my main image. I think this is a good choice as we can see the Wilson building and the grass in the background, which shows it's Wyke College that's being promoted. The student is looking happy which promotes a happy outlook on the college life, the student holding her book also shows a good educational purpose to it too. I used a medium shot which shows her waist upwards. The negative about this is theres no-one in the background to support a 'busy' and friendly college. I aren't sure whether to use this yet.
I decided against this image as the student isn't looking into the camera which makes us not feel involved with the magazine. It is also hard to see her facial expression, which doesn't make sense as she is looking away but there is no students etc to be looking at.

I chose this as an idea for my main image as the student is stood in side Oak outside the library with students in the background. We can also see a closer look at the book she's holding which represents Wyke College. This is a medium close up shot and we can see she is looking happy. I'm not sure whether to use this as my front cover.
This is the same as the above but I am not using this as it's too close and it's more focused on the student not what's in the background.
Contents Page-
I was going to use this as my contents page as I thought I could make the notebook represent students work and have writing on top of it. I decided against this as I think it looks too young teen like and the magazine is targeted at 16-25's. It also looks too boring for a contents page.
I took this for my contents page. I am thinking about blurring the library out a little, and writing the contents pages above this. I also was going to edit out 'LIBRARY' and change it to 'CONTENTS'. There is also some people in the background so even though it would be blurred we can still see them a bit to promote a friendly environment. I think I would use this for my contents page.
This is the same as above but I am not using this as I think it's too close and you can't see much of inside of the library.Thumbnail images-
I am thinking about using this as the image for on the front of the page, but a more advertising picture, for example the picture will be a small square and there will be a kicker and anchorage underneath saying 'turn to page...' to attract readers into opening the magazine. This would be for revision tips as she's looking into her book.
This is another small thumbnail I am going to use for advertising, It would be to promote the arty side of the college. It would also have a kicker and anchorage under it on the front page to encourage students to read the magazine.
I would use this as a thumbnail on the front page to show students at Wyke and to promote how they're settling in at Wyke - which would be the anchorage. I'm not sure whether to use this as although it could be used for a page in the magazine it's not really promoting much. This is another small thumbnail idea for the front of the magazine with a kicker and anchorage under it. This would be to promote the sporty side of college as I am aiming to attract both genders and there is boys in this image, so it could promote a new boys sports team being scouted.
This would be a small thumbnail to promote the art side again, but I am not using this as it's blurry and the student doesn't look happy. You also can't see what she's looking at so it's pointless.

This thumbnail on the front page was going to promote revision tips but you can't see what's she's doing, or her facial expression.
