FINAL THREE PRODUCTS! & AUDIENCE FEEDBACK FOR EACH!

FRONT COVER!




AUDIENCE FEEDBACK.

I created a tally chart and asked my audience (10 people) who are aged 16/17 for their opinions on some of the questions asked. I then wrote down what they said.
What genre is my magazine? indie/rock 9 pop metal indie 1
Would you buy my magazine? YES-8 NO 2- IF NO, WHY? I don't like rock music 2
Does my magazine have a professional finish to it? YES 9 NO IF NO, WHY? It does but the image quality isn't great
Is the price reasonable for your age group? (16-17) YES 10 NO 0
I then asked each individual 1 thing they like and 1 thing they'd improve.
1LIKE - the image is dominant
DISLIKE theres not enough cover lines
2 LIKE the house style works well with the genre of music
DISLIKE maybe using a leather jacket would of fit with the mise en scene a little more
3 LIKE the main image stands out and she's enaging with the audience by giving them eye contact
DISLIKE nothing
4LIKE the whole splash goes together well
DISLIKE nothing
5LIKE the tease device stands out as it's on a red background
DISLIKE nothing really
6LIKE the price is at the top which is unconventional yet still effective.
DISLIKE you should of add more cover lines
7LIKE it stands out to me as i like rock music
DISLIKE the image isnt high quality
8LIKE the picture fits the genre and it grabs the audiences attention
DISLIKE the price is hard to find as it's at the top
9LIKE the price is a reasonable price for my age group and the house style runs throughout the other products too
DISLIKE you should add more cover lines
10LIKE it doesnt have many cover lines which could show the main headline is most important
DISLIKE the font on the mast head and the font on the contents page title isn't the same, using the one on the contents page looks more rocky''

CONTENTS PAGE!

I did the same as above, with different questions, asking the same people for a more distinct opinion.
Do you like my contents page? YES 10 NO
Does my contents page look varied? YES-9 NO 1- IF NO, WHY? Theres not many other thumbnail images
Does my contents page fit into the indie/rock genre? YES 10 NO IF NO, WHY?
Is the font and text easy to read? YES 10 NO 0

1LIKE - the thumbnail images fit with the magazine
DISLIKE should have had a few more images
2 LIKE the house style carries on throughout the magazine
DISLIKE nothing
3 LIKE the vinyl record fits with the mise en scene of rock music.
DISLIKE nothing
4LIKE i like how you've been unconventional and created your own layout for a contents page
DISLIKE nothing
5LIKE the yellow advertisement stands out, catches the readers attention
DISLIKE maybe add a white box on to page number 10 and 5&6 next to the thumbnail images like you have with the others.
6LIKE 'output' is at the top so the audience can see it belongs to your magazine
DISLIKE nothing
7LIKE it all fits well together

8LIKE the vinyl record looks really good as a background, and you haven't used a boring background.
DISLIKE there needs to be a few more thumbnail images maybe?
9LIKE the vinyl record makes the contents page look more appealing to the audience.
DISLIKE the subheading 'news' is a little larger than the other subheadings.
10LIKE the house style and background image work well together.

Is the article interesting? YES 7 NO IF NO, WHY?the majority said it was too short, the build up was better than the actual article..
Is the house style carried through? yes 10

1LIKE - the model is holding a vinyl record which fits with your genre
DISLIKE the article is too short
2 LIKE the artist looks dominant
DISLIKE the background doesn't fit with the rest of the page
3 LIKE the headlines take over the page and are dominant
DISLIKE nothing
4LIKE you have added an advertisement which makes the spread look more realistic
DISLIKE the top headline looks too small
5LIKE the image is professional and she is engaging with the audience
DISLIKE nothing
6LIKE the pull quote stands out
DISLIKE the background image doesn't fit
7LIKE it fits the rock genre and conventional
DISLIKE the article is too short
8LIKE the picture fits with your genre, as well as the mise en scene being black and dominant

DISLIKE you should have used the same background that you did on the front cover to make it stand out more.

DISLIKE the masthead should have been bigger.

I am happy with the audience feedback as a lot of people said they would buy my magazine and it appeals to them. I agree with some of the negative feedback as for the double page spread I also don't think it fits well with my contents page and front cover.
If I was to change anything I would change the background or make it black and white to give a more 'retro' effect to my magazine.
