CONTENTS PAGE DRAFT 1 AND TWO! & AUDIENCE FEEDBACK!

HAND DRAWN DRAFT

ICT DRAFT

Draft 1
For my first draft contents page I used a large, clear title page to allow the audience to acknowledge what the page is. I carried my house style onto the contents page so my magazine all fits together. I also used a Vinyl Record as my background to create a more rock and roll edge to my magazine. I need to improve this as the image quality is bad and isn't cut out neatly, giving my magazine a less professional finish to it.
Audience feedback.
I asked 10 people what they thought of my contents page so far, some over all opinions.
Dan- I like the image, but you should take another photo as it's not clear.
Yasmin-You should add some more images so the contents page is varied.
Dan-Under the subheadings you should add longer sentences as it's very short.
Laura-It's hard to read red writing on a black background, you should change it to White on black.
Lisa-''This Week'' sounds like a TV magazine.
Sam-I like the design but use more thumbnail images so it's not the same person throughout the magazine.
Sophie- I like how you've set out the text, and placed all the writing around the Vinyl record.
Charley-There's a lot of empty space, maybe add more images?
Ben-You should write the page numbers as just the numbers instead of 'Page 11' etc.
Ella-I like the colour scheme, and the Vinyl record. You should add an advertisement instead of using 'free posters', it makes the magazine look to conventional and tacky.

Looking at audience feedback I need to put a lot of work into my next draft. I'm going to take some more clearer photos of my Vinyl Record, and change the colours round, and also add some more images etc.

Draft two is the same as one apart from I added a teasing device. I added a subscription advertisement to the bottom using a bright yellow background to grab the readers attention.
I asked for feedback on the new convention I had added off 5 people:
I asked - Do you think the tease convention works? Are you drawn to it?
Sophie: I think the advertisement stands out straight away because the page is dark coloured and the box is bright and grabs your attention.
Ben: I think it works because it's real bright and you notice it straight away.
Sam: You should add a border round it maybe to make it stand out even more..
Charley: The bright colour clashes so it stands out alot.
Yasmin: I like the tease convention as the audience will want to purchase the magazine if they see they can save over 50 pound and it definitely grabs your attention.
