Target audience.

My magazine needs to be fun and fresh yet still intellectual as it's for a college magazine so should have interesting information about the college and what's going on. Using demographics I can see that the target audience is going to be male and female as both attend Wyke College. The age range would be 15-24 as you start when you're about to turn 16, but can stay on for a few years. For the S.E.G the audience will be semi skilled and unskilled manual workers. This is because some students at Wyke do have a job outside of college, but are still learning during this. I also chose casual laborours, unemployed and state pentioners. I chose this as alot of students are unemployed and they are students who attend Wyke. The audience won't be too wide as there is a certain amount of people who attend Wyke College and would be interested in reading it and getting involved, people outside of Wyke won't be interested. The psycho graphics would all be in the group, groups who are outer-directed; belongers, emulators and achievers. This is because the students all belong to one group, ie being a student. They would be emulators as they would look upto teachers and previous students at wyke, being guided to become a smarter student. They also will achieve as the goal when starting Wyke is to achieve full potential and become qualified in the subjects chosen. Everyone at Wyke will have the same attitudes and interests more or less which will determine what will be shown in my magazine.
